Reach

there aren't many promises
left in the box -
a few - but mostly
picked over already

go back a few generations -
before cars or so -
was it different?
how can we tell?

the squirrel climbs
unconcerned
flicking its tail
against the sunset

pat - so true - rediscovering classical themes in real time

andrew - thanks

polona - there's one about that keeps me from drifting off too far into sunset musing:)

masago - sure things seem to get harder to find - but I guess that often happens

aurora - thank you - I like writing facing out of the window where ideas can combine. (Nice hiking scene!)

plus ultra - good to enjoy what is there - thank you for your sense of imagery.

liked this steve
i feel much the same
but
take especial delight
when i do find something
which hasn't been picked over
(the rest of the time - like you
i watch the wildlife which seems "unconcerned")
