Gentle June

This morning
I sample the heavy metal
from a link on my son's website

I remember spending hours
listening to those big plastic disks
via diamond transduction

The sound of the needle
sliding across grooves
like life jarred off-track

It's a lovely quiet morning
Birds and distant traffic
and a clicky keyboard

The first cup of tea
tall children waking up
telling me their dreams

beautifully done
it all rings true
but
"tall children" is a wonderful term
it says so much in just two words
in fact that whole final stanza
did it for me
cheers

pat - yes, great to be able to spend a little time writing about it, too.

floots - thank you - I liked the last stanza also, one I'll probably remember...

filled with a peaceful, quiet energy, the "clicky keyboard" is a lovely aural trope.
