pre-storm poem

Hail in the west -
thunder echos
and inland seagulls
cry misplaced tunes

my glass of wine
thoughtfully waits
while lightning queues up

light wind gusts
brush leaves
then subside

a loon flies past
hurried, warning
of approaching brilliance

vaughn - thank you - and there was quite a lot of lightning through the night.

aurora - i was sitting outside with my laptop under a shelter as it was beginning to rain, when i heard the gulls and the loon flew past, and lighting flashed nearby.

polona - thank you - I was away for a while at a family get-together.

With every warning there continues life in between.
You have pegged it so clearly.
